Architecture, People & Place
Documentary-led photography of buildings, interiors and the people who bring them to life.
Meet John Dom Paiva
I create considered images of architecture, interiors and the people who bring spaces to life, working with architects, designers and cultural organisations across the North West.
Huyton High Street
Regeneration Project
Architectural Emporium developed individual schemes for each block, which respected the fundamental elements of each building but created a big enough impact to promote change in the rest of the area.
“John did a wonderful job. He delivered everything we asked and more. It wasn't an easy task and we were delighted with the results.”
Toby Wallis
Director, Architectural Emporium
Kempston Street Works
Co-working Space
Work produced of Kempston Street Works, a creative workspace in Liverpool’s Fabric District.
The series combines architectural details with examples of the space in use, images were used across social media and the website to promote the space.
Copper Courtyard House
Architecture & Interior Design
This residential project captures a contemporary copper-clad extension that sits confidently alongside the original courtyard house.
The images focus on the relationship between materials, light and form, documenting how the new addition enhances the character of the existing home.
Allerton Windows
Home Improvements
These images showcase a completed home extension, highlighting the new glazing, interior finish and connection between the kitchen, living space and outside area.
The focus was on creating clear, inviting photographs that help prospective customers picture how the company’s windows and extensions could transform their own homes.
The Sundial
Luxury Residences
Photographed for The Sundial luxury residences, this series captures the contemporary architecture, carefully finished interiors and panoramic estuary views. The images were created to communicate the quality of the development and the lifestyle it offers to prospective buyers.
Bodysgallen Hall & Spa
Historic House & Hotel
Images used for web and social media at Bodysgallen Hall & Spa. I was tasked with photographing more than a venue — I documented a place with heritage, life and layered purpose.
My approach is
careful, considered and quietly observational.
I photograph architecture the way it was intended to be experienced, paying close attention to light, materials, proportion and the relationship between a building and the people who use it.
Whether it's a completed home, commercial space or public realm project, I work unobtrusively to create honest, natural images that communicate both the design intent and the atmosphere of a place.
The result is a set of photographs that feels authentic rather than overly polished, images that document your work with clarity, helping clients, collaborators and future commissions understand what makes each project unique.
Is this the right fit?
Every project is quoted individually based on its scale, location, intended use and the number of finished images required.
You might be in the right place if you:
value natural, considered images over heavily staged photography
want to communicate both the design and the experience of a space
need photographs for portfolios, awards, publications, websites or project launches
Whether you’re documenting a completed home, public space or commercial development, I’ll work with you to shape a clear brief and create a useful, cohesive set of images.
